Forever and Always

As you look at me
with your searching eyes
and ask, What, after all,
is forever and always?

My mind traces back
its steps through the
sands of time, spent
together and happy

Were not the moments,
by the moonlit window
and in the dark streets,
memories that last
forever and always?

Were not the seconds,
in the cycle rickshaws
and the yellow taxis,
memories that last
forever and always?

Were not the minutes,
at the soothing lake
and glitzy movies,
memories that last
forever and always?

Were not the hours,
through the phones
and across miles,
memories that last
forever and always?

Were not the days,
in the breezy woods
and short car rides,
memories that last
forever and always?

Were not these years,
as best friends
and partners in fun,
memories that last
forever and always?

Are not these times
and our words,
memories that last now,
forever and always?

  1. wow,i wish i were “she”. Thot almost so when i read “searching eyes”,what with u looking into my eyes ;)

On a serious note, the words form beautiful imagery in the mind. (and i cud imagine u both in the yellow taxi, relaxing on cushions in my resort, watching movies together and the friendly banters in the crowd with that touch of intimacy in the body language)

And thats amazing….if u r able to make the reader imagine and empathise..wow! And yes, every moment spent with a loved one…….every memory is forever :)

Btw,i can see u evolving…as a writer,a thinker,an actor and a creative being. breaking from the shell,u r!! and iam happy to be a part of your journey :)
